Effective Communication with Parents

*New Course – Summer 2022*

Course Description:

As educators, we are in constant contact with the parents and guardians of our students. Reaching out has been made easier thanks to new apps that facilitate the process, however, there are topics that can be challenging to discuss as well as parents and guardians who present us with difficulties. This course is designed to explore not only the various methods of communication, but strategies to help earn the trust and respect from parents and guardians so that they are comfortable speaking to us about sensitive topics concerning their children. We will work to build understand and trust in order to lay a strong foundation that will positively engage parents/guardians and benefit the children. This course is a must for K-12 teachers of any subject, age or grade level.
