Multiculturalism in the Classroom

$250.00

Course Description:

Multicultural education is both a social reform movement and educational process meant to create equal educational opportunities for students from diverse racial and ethnic groups. America was born a nation of immigrants and continues to diversify over time. Our job as educators is to make sure that our lessons, curriculum and school environment are incorporating those diverse backgrounds into our content so as to better reflect our society. This course dives into what defines a multicultural education and what methods we can utilize at various grade levels to teach the diverse populations in front of us. This class is a must for K-12 teachers in order to understand its importance and prepare them to implement academic changes that demand equity.
