This course will examine why students need to build their math fact fluency as well as different strategies for incorporating math facts into your day through stations, games, community builders, and more! Course Description: When students are stuck with a math problem what do you want them to do? Students need exposure to multiple math problem solving solving strategies if we want them to utilize a variety of them when they are stuck. This course will explore different problem solving strategies that students in all age groups can utilize, including mental math and critical thinking approaches to problem solving. Teachers will be able to engage their students in all aspects of the problem solving process. Topics covered include categories of Problem Solving Strategies, Matching the strategy to the learner, and benefits of multiple strategy usage in the classroom. Course Description: The three P’s of instruction are the driving forces for students’ successes. Ingraining this mindset in our learners creates lifelong skills. This course will explore the vast array of connections that teachers must foster in the classroom, including interdisciplinary ideals as: text to self, text to world, text to text. Teachers will be able to engage their learners in every discipline and bestow enlivened lessons into their worlds. Topics include creative writing, exploratory science, oral histories, mathematical manipulatives. All Next Generation standards will be covered. A must for K-12 Educators!!!

 | The new standards of common core can seem confusing and overwhelming to some when figuring out how to include them in daily lessons. This course will explore how the new common core math standards can be integrated into regular lesson plans in a fun and creative way. We will explore the standards of mathematical practice as the CCSS are a new way of teaching. At the end of this course, teachers will feel comfortable implementing the new standards and creating lessons that move students down the pathway of success and college and career readiness. Recommended for all Educators K – 12.
