Author Study Design and Implementation to Promote Reading Success

An author study is a thorough examination of the life, career, and literary works/achievements of an author. Through this study, students are given the opportunity to critically evaluate an author’s themes, characters, and writing style. In addition, students will make connections between the author’s life, work, and characters as well as make personal connections to the books and characters.
