Fall 2026, September- 14, 15, 16, 17,18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28
This new course equips educators with the skills to design, implement, and assess open-ended questions that promote critical thinking, inquiry, and student voice across subject areas. Teachers will learn how to shift from closed questioning to inquiry-driven instruction that deepens understanding and engagement. Participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between closed and open-ended questions
- Design high-quality open-ended questions within their classroom
- Facilitate discussions that extend student thinking
- Scaffold student responses for diverse learners
- Assess student understanding through open-ended tasks
In the end, teachers will utilize Bloom’s Taxonomy, Think-Pair-Share as well as a myriad of strategies they already know in order to build and have their students’ flourish.
