This new course equips educators with the skills to design, implement, and assess open-ended questions that promote critical thinking, inquiry, and student voice across subject areas. Teachers will learn how to shift from closed questioning to inquiry-driven instruction that deepens understanding and engagement. Participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish between closed and open-ended questions
  • Design high-quality open-ended questions within their classroom
  • Facilitate discussions that extend student thinking
  • Scaffold student responses for diverse learners
  • Assess student understanding through open-ended tasks

In the end, teachers will utilize Bloom’s Taxonomy, Think-Pair-Share as well as a myriad of strategies they already know in order to build and have their students’ flourish.
