This course explores how Social Emotional Learning (SEL) can be integrated into mathematics instruction to support student engagement, confidence, and academic success. This course examines how SEL strategies can help reduce math anxiety, promote growth mindsets, encourage collaboration, and create supportive classroom environments where students feel comfortable taking intellectual risks. Participants will explore topics such as math anxiety, growth mindset, learning from mistakes, emotional awareness, collaboration, culturally responsive teaching, and mathematical discourse. Participants will analyze educational research and consider how social-emotional competencies can be applied directly within math lessons and classroom practices. Educators will develop a deeper understanding of how SEL supports mathematics learning and will design strategies and lesson ideas that integrate social-emotional development with effective math instruction. This course is a must for all educators grades K-12.
