$600.00

PDLI9200

Course Description:

Life is a series of transitions. This graduate level course is designed for professionals across disciplines—including teachers, counselors, social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and related service providers. It focuses on how individuals with disabilities navigate changing expectations across school, college, and employment. Participants will explore how to balance support with independence while developing skills such as self-advocacy, executive functioning, and emotional readiness. The course emphasizes real-world k-12 application, interdisciplinary collaboration, and long-term outcomes. Through reflection, analysis, and design-based assignments, participants will deepen their practice and improve transition outcomes.

This course mirrors the complexity of real-world transitions. Each module builds on the previous, reinforcing that transitions are continuous, not isolated events. Participants will leave with practical tools, strategies, and a deeper understanding of how to support students across life stages.
